AdvanceCT Announces Two New Strategic Hires

ROCKY HILL, CT – October 26, 2020– AdvanceCT announces the hiring of two senior members of its business recruitment team, who will lead the organization’s efforts to attract inward investment into Connecticut in the Advanced Manufacturing and Biosciences sectors, respectively. 

Carolyn Trabuco joins as the Senior Director of Business Development. She leads AdvanceCT’s business development efforts for the Advanced Manufacturing sector. With a deep background in international equity investing, Carolyn’s investment career has focused on identifying and investing in secular growth opportunities in global resources, industrials, aerospace, aviation, and infrastructure.  

Carolyn has worked with Connecticut investment firms Phibro Trading and Pequot Capital Management, where she was a senior member of the investment team and portfolio manager. Prior to that she was an equity research analyst at a number of Wall Street Firms including Montgomery Securities, Lehman Brothers and Fidelity Investments in Boston.

Carolyn is a graduate of Georgetown University and received her MPA from Sacred Heart University.

Also joining AdvanceCT is Sho Islam.  With over 15 years of experience, Sho is a veteran economic developer. Joining AdvanceCT as a Director of Business Development, Sho leads AdvanceCT’s business development efforts in the Biosciences sector.

Prior to joining AdvanceCT, Sho was the Business Development Officer at Choose New Jersey, Inc., where he successfully led the business development efforts in the logistics, technology, and life sciences sectors.

Sho has also led the business development efforts at Rutgers University’s Food Innovation Center (RFIC). His thirteen-plus year tenure at the RFIC included various roles of progressive responsibilities including strategic business consulting.

Sho received a B.S. in Environmental Business Economics, a M.S. in Food and Business Economics, and a M.S. in Public Affairs with an emphasis in Community Development, all from Rutgers University.
