AdvanceCT Relaunches CampusCT, Improving Delivery Of Career And Lifestyle Opportunities To Connecticut College Students
September 22, 2023
New Haven, Connecticut – September 20th, 2023: AdvanceCT announces the relaunch of CampusCT, an initiative of the Governor’s Workforce Council (GWC) dedicated to growing Connecticut’s talent pool by providing students with more meaningful professional experiences in their college years and highlighting the rich, diverse quality of life in the state.
The relaunched CampusCT is a significant improvement in the state’s ability to deliver career opportunities to the +150,000 college students who are pursuing degrees in Connecticut. Changes include a dynamic new website, curated career portal with thousands of entry-level jobs and professional insights, and a refreshed brand identity to build stronger brand awareness among college students.
“Graduates remaining in Connecticut benefit from staying connected to family, a high quality of life, attractive job opportunities, and a variety of career pathways,” said John Bourdeaux, President of AdvanceCT. “CampusCT serves as a tool for students to find meaningful professional connections and to change perceptions of what living in Connecticut is like as a young professional.”
Meeting students where they are, breaking barriers to local growth
Connecticut’s higher education system is comprised of +150,000 students across 42 colleges and universities. But too often these students leave after graduation. Since students who have work-based experiences during college are much more likely to remain in state, CampusCT serves as a gateway to local employers, their entry-level jobs and internships, and everything that the state has to offer from a lifestyle perspective – demonstrating Connecticut has what college students are looking for as they launch their careers.
Bridging the gap between employers and the next generation of talent
CampusCT provides unparalleled exposure to entry-level talent for companies looking to hire in Connecticut. Through its website and social media channels, students can explore company brands, cultures and open roles, and even gain direct insights from hiring managers on professional development topics. Employers also receive promotions through CampusCT’s Weekly Newsletter, which in the Spring of 2023 reached an audience of +92,000 students.
For non-sponsoring employers, individual job postings may be purchased on the CampusCT Career Portal for a small fee. Internship postings are offered completely free of charge.
A Collaborative Initiative
CampusCT is a highly collaborative, public-private initiative between AdvanceCT, CampusCT’s employer sponsors, the State of Connecticut, and a growing list of +20 institutes of higher education across Connecticut who help promote CampusCT to their students and bolster CampusCT’s presence through career fairs, conferences, and other professional development events.
