Oxford facility brings specialized high-vacuum testing, analysis and customer support closer to the U.S. semiconductor industry
Oxford, Connecticut, September 1, 2026 — AdvanceCT today announced that DM Vacuumsystems USA, LLC has established operations in Oxford, creating a new U.S. hub for specialized high-vacuum testing, analysis, sales, and customer service.
DM Vacuumsystems USA, LLC was formed through a partnership with D&M Vacuumsystemen B.V., a Netherlands-based high-vacuum technology company founded in 1992. The new Connecticut operation represents an expansion into the United States as demand for advanced semiconductor technology continues to accelerate, fueled in part by the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and the computing infrastructure needed to support it.
The Oxford facility will specialize in residual gas analysis, ultra-high-vacuum compatibility testing, and contamination control analysis and testing. It will also serve as a sales and service hub for customers throughout the United States, providing more direct access to technical expertise, maintenance and support.
“When we began planning a U.S. operation, Connecticut stood out because of its concentration of advanced technology companies throughout the region, specifically in the semiconductor sector,” said Coen Driessen, CEO & Owner of DM Vacuumsystems USA, LLC. “Establishing a facility in Oxford allows us to work more closely with customers, respond more quickly to their needs and contribute directly to a semiconductor supply chain that is becoming increasingly important to the global economy.”
High-vacuum technology plays a critical role in semiconductor manufacturing, where microscopic amounts of gas or contamination can affect the performance of highly sensitive components and equipment. Residual gas analysis identifies and measures gases released by materials and assemblies under vacuum, helping manufacturers determine whether components meet stringent cleanliness and compatibility requirements before they are incorporated into larger systems.
D&M Vacuumsystemen B.V. has delivered more than 300 fully automated residual gas analyzer systems worldwide, primarily for semiconductor and analytical applications. Its systems support companies throughout the global semiconductor supply chain by qualifying components and assemblies against exacting outgassing requirements.
The company also designs and manufactures automatic bake-out systems, customized vacuum deposition equipment and tailor-made ultra-high-vacuum systems. Its customers span the semiconductor, analytical, research and development, aerospace, and thin-film coating industries, of which it has delivered more than 800 total systems.
“DM Vacuumsystems USA’s decision to establish operations in Oxford is a strong example of how Connecticut’s semiconductor ecosystem is attracting specialized international capabilities,” said John Bourdeaux, President and CEO of AdvanceCT. “Proximity to major players in the advanced chip manufacturing industry creates opportunities across an extensive supply chain, and companies increasingly recognize the value of locating close to both a major customer and a deep network of advanced manufacturers. DM brings highly specialized expertise that will strengthen that network and help Connecticut play an even greater role in the technologies powering the future.”
D&M Vacuumsystemen B.V. was founded in the Netherlands in 1992 as a spin-off from Philips Lighting. Since then, it has expanded its engineering, production, cleanroom, testing, and service and support capabilities while developing customized vacuum solutions for high-technology customers around the world.
Its work combines engineering, in-house production, and long-term technical support. D&M manufactures customized vacuum chambers and components, integrates pumps and sensors, develops automated processes and software, and tests complete systems to ensure they meet customer requirements.
AdvanceCT began engaging with the U.S. company’s leadership in spring 2025, connecting the team with small business resources and partners that could support a Connecticut operation. Those conversations helped lay the groundwork for the partnership with D&M Vacuumsystems and the decision to establish the new U.S. facility in Oxford.
“We are grateful for the support we received from Connecticut, particularly through AdvanceCT,” added Driessen. “Their team connected us with the right resources, helped us understand the advantages of operating here and made it easier to move from an idea to an established U.S. presence. Connecticut gives us the opportunity to be closer to our customers while also building new relationships across the region.”
The Oxford operation creates a direct connection between Dutch technology expertise and Connecticut’s growing semiconductor industry. By placing specialized vacuum testing and customer support close to leading chipmakers and their major suppliers, DM Vacuumsystems USA, LLC will help reduce response times, strengthen collaboration and add an important technical capability to the domestic semiconductor supply chain.
