Ramar-Hall Marks 70 Years with $5 Million Aerospace Manufacturing Expansion in Middlefield

Press Release
15,000-square-foot addition will increase production capacity, create new jobs and support growing demand from Pratt & Whitney and other aerospace customers
Middlefield, Connecticut, August 27, 2026 — Ramar-Hall Inc., an AS9100-certified precision machining and assembly company serving the commercial aerospace and defense industries, today announced a $5 million expansion of its longtime manufacturing operation in Middlefield.
The project will add 15,000 square feet of manufacturing space, provide additional production capacity and support the continued growth of Ramar-Hall’s workforce. The expansion is driven by increasing demand from key customers, including Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney, and will further strengthen Connecticut’s globally significant aerospace and defense supply chain.
“Ramar-Hall has grown alongside Connecticut’s aerospace industry for 70 years, and this expansion represents the next chapter in that relationship,” said Dave Ferraguto, President of Ramar-Hall. “Demand from our customers continues to grow, and this investment will give us the space, technology and workforce capacity to meet that demand while maintaining the quality and responsiveness our customers expect.”
The latest expansion is supported by a $700,000 award through the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development’s (DECD) Strategic Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI). The program supports the growth of companies in critical supply chains, including aerospace and defense, by helping Connecticut manufacturers increase capacity, adopt new technologies, and respond to growing customer demand.
Kirti Patel, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Manufacturing Officer at DECD, noted, “Ramar-Hall’s investment is exactly the kind of momentum that keeps Connecticut’s aerospace sector growing. When long-established manufacturers expand their production capacity, it strengthens the entire supply chain and creates the kind of high quality jobs that fuel our economy. DECD is proud to support this project—proof that Connecticut’s advanced manufacturers have the talent, technology, and confidence to keep pushing forward.” AdvanceCT provided strategic guidance throughout the expansion process, coordinating with the DECD and the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) to align available support with the company’s facility, equipment, and workforce needs.
“AdvanceCT and DECD remained engaged throughout the process and helped us bring the different pieces of this project together,” Ferraguto added. “Their guidance on the Strategic Supply Chain Initiative were particularly important to moving the expansion forward. This support is helping us make a significant investment in our operation, our employees, and our future in Connecticut.
Ramar-Hall manufactures precision components and complete assemblies for some of the most technically demanding applications in aviation. Its work includes components for electronic engine controls, flight systems, large and small gas turbine engines, and rotary aircraft hardware.
The company’s customers include many of the most recognizable names in aerospace, including Pratt & Whitney, Collins Aerospace, Hamilton Sundstrand, GKN, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. From jet engine controls to helicopter hardware, Ramar-Hall’s products help support aircraft and propulsion systems operating around the world.
The expansion will build upon a range of advanced manufacturing capabilities at the Middlefield facility, including CNC horizontal and vertical high-speed machining, 5-axis capability and CNC turning, rapid prototyping, quick-turn machining and the assembly of complex aerospace components. Ramar-Hall also performs specialized assembly processes including riveting, bonding, gasket installation and the installation of aerospace fasteners and hardware.
“Ramar-Hall represents the depth and staying power of Connecticut’s aerospace supply chain,” said John Bourdeaux, President and CEO of AdvanceCT. “For seven decades, the company has adapted to new technologies, increasingly complex customer requirements, and major changes across the aerospace industry. Its decision to make another substantial investment in Middlefield reflects both the strength of the business and the advantages Connecticut provides to manufacturers that need skilled talent, technical expertise, and close proximity to leading aerospace customers.”
Founded in 1956 as the Ramar Tool Company, the business began as a tool-and-die manufacturer in Middletown. Ramar-Hall purchased its first CNC milling and turning machines in 1978, beginning its transformation into a production machining source for the aerospace industry.
The company moved to its current Middlefield location in 1980 and began machining and assembling electronic engine controls in 1987. Since then, it has continued to add space, technology and capabilities while earning recognition from major customers for its quality and performance.
The project reinforces Middlefield’s role within an aerospace manufacturing network that stretches across Connecticut. Large original equipment manufacturers depend on specialized suppliers such as Ramar-Hall to provide the precision, quality and production capacity required for both current programs and future growth.
With the addition of 15,000 square feet, Ramar-Hall will be positioned to expand production, invest in new equipment, add employees, and respond more quickly to its customers, building on a Connecticut manufacturing legacy that began seven decades ago.
