Erron Smith

Director, Business Development

Department: Staff

Erron leads business recruitment and expansion initiatives that advance Connecticut’s economic development and investment promotion priorities. He serves as project lead on complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, facilitating in-market corporate site visits and managing project-specific deliverables for C-suite executives, corporate real estate teams, and site selection consultants, in support of both domestic and international investment projects across the state. He regularly coordinates with state agencies, municipalities, utilities, and private-sector partners to advance projects from early-stage evaluation through execution and investment decision-making.

His work includes conducting comprehensive commercial real estate analysis and site due diligence, evaluating site availability and readiness, zoning and entitlement considerations, infrastructure capacity, labor access, and other investment-critical market factors to develop tailored, data-driven location solutions. He also advises companies on identifying and structuring financial resources—including state and local incentive programs—that address specific project constraints and support investment outcomes tied to capital investment, job creation, personal property acquisitions, workforce development, long-term operational growth, and sustainability.

Erron leverages public and proprietary market data to develop and present targeted validating materials to companies whose growth and investment profiles align with Connecticut’s value proposition, leading industries, and complement its emerging technology sectors.

Erron earned his bachelor’s degree from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and holds a master’s degree in real estate from Georgetown University.
