A private equity-backed healthcare services firm is deepening its Connecticut presence after shifting its U.S. headquarters from Los Angeles to East Haven — a move that builds on an existing footprint the company established a few years ago.

GeBBS Healthcare Solutions, a revenue-cycle management firm, acquired East Haven–based CPa Medical Billing in 2023, giving it an initial base of operations in the state. The combined companies now plan to add about 150 jobs in Connecticut over the next seven years, according to AdvanceCT, the nonprofit business development group that assisted with the expansion.

GeBBS and CPa provide outsourced medical billing, coding and administrative support for healthcare providers nationwide. GeBBS, headquartered globally in Mumbai and part-owned by Swedish investment firm EQT, employs more than 14,000 people.

To support the company’s Connecticut growth plans, the state Department of Economic and Community Development said it will offer up to $939,994 in JobsCT tax rebates, contingent on the company creating and retaining the promised full-time positions.

Gov. Ned Lamont said the move underscores Connecticut’s strength in healthcare-related support services and reflects a broader trend of administrative and back-office operations relocating to the state.

John Bourdeaux, president and CEO of AdvanceCT, said GeBBS’ expansion fits a pattern his organization has been tracking.

“We anticipate more growth and consolidations in this industry, and Connecticut is well placed for these types of operations, in the back office, accounting, and administrative support services space,” he said.

Milind Godbole, CEO and managing director of GeBBS Healthcare Solutions, said the company’s decision to move its U.S. headquarters to East Haven will help it expand its workforce and strengthen client service nationwide.
