Saranda works to increase the regional and global competitiveness of Connecticut through business attraction and targeted international trade missions, with a primary focus on renewable energy and offshore wind. Building on public and private sector partnerships, she manages new-to-market foreign direct investment opportunities seeking the best regional advantage for their next stage of growth.
Saranda previously worked at the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, a state agency within the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, serving as liaison between the agency and external stakeholders. In the Waterbury Mayor’s Office, she coordinated initiatives with a focus on brownfields and environmental projects. Additionally, as the city’s communications manager, Saranda led the development of public messaging strategy, including marketing and media relations.
Saranda is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and is dedicated to giving back to programs that have a lasting impact on people's lives. She was previously a tutor for Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury, teaching adults English as a Second Language, and was voted Vice Chairwoman of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee, which advised on the distribution of millions of dollars annually in grant funding to nonprofit groups.
