Director, Business Development, Techology

AdvanceCT is hiring a Director, Business Development to recruit businesses in the tech sector to Connecticut. AdvanceCT is a nonprofit working to grow the Connecticut economy through job creation and investment, in partnership with the Department of Community and Economic Development (DECD). AdvanceCT’s board of directors and member companies include some of the state’s most influential leaders and organizations; all are committed to inclusive economic growth in Connecticut.

The Director, Business Development is a full-time, hybrid position, encompassing work in the New Haven office and remotely. The Director will build a network of Connecticut’s tech sector assets (companies, technologies, potential partners, key initiatives) and leverage it to capture new investments, while also building relationships with site selectors in and out of state. The position requires close collaboration with DECD and other partners, and some domestic and international travel.

Candidate Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a business development mindset and proven success following a relationship development process. Candidates should have a track record of business development wins, namely sourcing, developing, and closing leads. Work experience in economic development and/or tech is preferred.

  • A collaborative, team-play style
